Anita Noerr was called to the bar in 2015. Prior to joining the Bar, she worked in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs in London and also worked as a Legal Assistant for Kelcey & Hall Solicitors, where she undertook work on family and criminal cases, including spending 6 months working on a multi-handed VAT construction industry fraud trial.

Anita has a particular interest in cases involving those who have communication and learning needs. After volunteering for the National Autistic Society for 5 years, she completed a foundation degree in ‘Understanding Autistic Spectrum Disorder’. She has experience of both prosecuting and defending those with learning difficulties, including the need for involvement of court intermediaries where required.

She has experience of conducting a variety of criminal trials including public order offences, animal welfare offences, regulatory offences, breaches and appeals against conviction and sentence.

Her knowledge of motoring law offences is particularly helpful in her defence work where she has successfully represented defendants making arguments for exceptional hardship and using expert evidence to challenge procedures followed.

Anita is regularly instructed in private and public law family cases across Magistrates’, County and High Courts.

Private Law

Anita represents parties in a variety of private law applications including contested applications for Child Arrangements Orders, injunctions and findings of fact involving allegations of emotional, physical and sexual abuse.

Public Law

Anita has expanded her knowledge of public law, in particular, through representing parties at contested final hearings and findings of fact, including cases involving allegations of Non Accidental Injury.

She has experience acting on behalf of parents, Local Authorities and Guardians.

Anita has an interest in all court of protection work, with a particular focus on the Mental Capacity Act, vulnerable parties and DOLS applications.

Anita is Assistant Editor on the Court of Protection Hub website, where she publishes case summaries on recent judgments given by the court of protection. This website is the accompanying website to the recent publication of “Court of Protection Made Clear”, written by Claire Wills-Goldingham QC and Marie Leslie.

Anita is also an accredited mediator available to provide mediation services across all types of civil litigation matters.
