Prior to joining the bar, Anita worked in Investment Banking in London and for a local firm of Solicitors specialising in family and criminal law. She went on to achieve a grade of ‘Outstanding’ in her Bar Course.

Anita enjoys a busy practice and has a particular interest in cases involving those who have communication and learning needs. This builds from her volunteer work for the National Autistic Society and the completion of a foundation degree in ‘Understanding Autistic Spectrum Disorder’ which she completed in her spare time at University. She has since completed the vulnerable witness training and has experience of representing those with learning difficulties, including the need for involvement of court intermediaries where required.


Anita accepts instructions in Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Courts across the South West. She is a Grade 1 CPS Prosecutor.

She has experience prosecuting and defending in a variety of cases including:

Public Law

Her practice covers all areas of public law, acting on behalf of parents, local authorities, children’s guardians, intervenors and including representation of the Official Solicitor.
Anita has experience representing parties at all stages of proceedings from directions hearings to contested findings of fact and final hearings. She has represented parties in cases involving neglect, substance misuse, mental health, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, factitious injuries and non-accidental injuries.

Private Law

Instructions are accepted in all areas of private law, including applications under the Children Act 1989 and injunctive proceedings under both the Family Law Act 1989 and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Anita also advises and acts for 16.4 guardians and in cases involving enforcement proceedings or removal from the jurisdiction.
Anita has particular experience of representing parties in finding of fact hearings where complex allegations of serious domestic violence, sexual abuse or neglect have been made.

Financial Remedies

Anita acts and advises in all areas of financial remedies from advice on settlement through to final hearing. Instructions are accepted to represent parties at FDAs, FDRs, preliminary and final hearings.


Anita has an interest in all court of protection work, with a particular focus on the Mental Capacity Act, vulnerable parties and DOLS applications.


Anita is Assistant Editor on the Court of Protection Hub website, where she publishes case summaries on recent judgments given by the court of protection. This website is the accompanying website to the recent publication of “Court of Protection Made Clear”, written by Claire Wills-Goldingham QC and Marie Leslie.

Anita has been commended for her in-depth research for the recent publication of Cyber Security, Law and Practice, written by Dean Armstrong QC, Dan Hyde and Sam Thomas. Her research was compiled to inform all 15 chapters and covered all areas of Cyber Security within both criminal and civil law.


Anita is an accredited mediator available to provide mediation services across all types of civil litigation matters.
