Carla is a family and Court of Protection practitioner.
Carla’s specialism is in children law and practice. Her family practice encompasses both public and private law. In public law, she acts for local authorities, parents and children. She has experience in a wide range of issues such as factitious illness, non-accidental injury and neglect. In private law, Carla’s practice covers complex disputes including those that necessitate transfer to the High Court.
Carla has particular interest in cases involving parties who suffer from mental health difficulties. She is experienced in representing vulnerable clients and her calm and reassuring approach is well received.

Successful appeal against decision of a judge not to permit an assessment of a father in care proceedings because of the likely delay.
Re M (unreported)
Representing the child through her guardian in public law proceedings where that child was under section. The court had to hear evidence from a number of psychiatrists and mental health professionals. At the start of the hearing the guardian’s analysis of the case was contrary to that of the Local Authority and the parents but ultimately was shown to be the correct approach.
Re X (unreported)
Representing the father in private law proceedings where the mother alleged witnessing sexual abuse of the children by their father. Carla successfully defended the allegations in a fact finding hearing over 5 days and later obtained a change of residence for all 3 children to their father’s care.
