A leading criminal set of chambers in the South West, Colleton Chambers is particularly well known for its strength in depth in areas of Regulatory Crime. We have considerable experience of both prosecuting and defending high profile regulatory breaches, providing us with a substantial body of knowledge within chambers.
Our barristers have a broad range of experience to enable excellent representation at all levels of general crime. We have several members who have achieved the highest level possible for a Prosecutor (Cat 4) and who have defended in the most serious of cases.
We are a friendly and approachable set of chambers, and that allows our junior members to benefit from the experience of more senior members. We appear in all criminal courts and tribunals including those in the appellate jurisdiction – to pursue Judicial Reviews, case stated hearings, appeals to the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, etc.
We also provide a comprehensive service at the Magistrates’ Court, and are able to offer a direct service to members of the public who wish to instruct a barrister without the additional expense of instructing a Solicitor.
Nigel Wraith heads the Crime Team, and is contactable at
