Regulatory Crime specialist with particular experience in animal welfare, fishing, hunting and environmental cases. Has prosecuted and defended many cases brought by DEFRA, RSPCA, League Against Cruel Sports and CPRE and various in and off-shore fishing authorities.
Works for a number of local authorities, including Devon, Cornwall and Oxfordshire in the areas of Trading Standards, Food Safety and Health and Safety.
Has a particular interest in professional conduct cases and has appeared in the General Medical Council, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, the IPCC and at Inquests involving Police conduct.
He also has a niche civil practice involving Rights of Way, Boundary disputes and planning. He recently represented a local action group and the CPRE in successfully preventing permission for a wind farm at a three week public inquiry.
In the Crown Court he prosecutes and defends in equal measure and is a specialist in cases of serious sex, child cruelty, drugs and violence and those involving difficult clients. He has lectured widely on the subject of vulnerable witnesses, disabled defendants, and the use of intermediaries in the Crown Court.
