Notable Case

R v J (2004) UKHL 42
Where it was successfully argued in the House of Lords that when more than 12 months had elapsed since an act of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a girl had taken place, so that no prosecution could be commenced under Section 6(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 1956, it was impermissible for the Crown to prosecute a charge of indecent assault under Section 14(1) of the same Act based solely on the same facts.
