Changes at Colleton Chambers
After a successful 10 years at the helm Mark Whitehall is stepping down as our Head of Colleton Chambers from the end of September. Staff and colleagues thank him for his leadership. Mark will continue to offer support to the management during a transitional period.
We welcome Chris Godfrey as the new Head of Colleton Chambers, alongside Nigel Wraith as Deputy Head. Chris is currently the Head of the Family Team, Nigel the former Head of Crime. This combination reflects the larger teams’ interests in chambers and we look forward to their leadership.
Emily Pitts remains head of the Crime team and Dr Nicky Isaacs will be the new Head of Family.
Carla Flexman has been appointed a Circuit Judge, commencing at Torquay Court from 7 September and we all wish her the very best in her judicial role.
Rowan Jenkins joined us earlier this year as a welcome addition in the Crime team bringing experience from the South Eastern circuit; he is a Category 4 prosecutor on the RASSO panel with an increasing caseload in the South West.
We welcome a new member of chambers in September who may already be a familiar face in the family courts – after fourteen years as a solicitor Helen Trott is joining the Bar with Colleton Chambers.
We also welcome 3 new pupils; Dr James Gould in Civil / Employment and Lisa Denley and Laura D’Alessandro in Crime. They all start their pupillage on 3 October 2022.
